Tea tent

The Tea Tent is very much a focal point of the LCK day and offers far more than simple refreshment.

It is a very special experience and it is enjoyed by everyone of all ages; in fact it achieves one of the best aims of Laa Columb Killey -- bringing together the young & old, family & friends, local & visitors in one place to meet & greet then pass some quality time together with a pleasant chat & perhaps exchange some 'skeet'!

Parishioners & visitors alike come to sample the delights of the famous LCK Tea Tent year after year. Many people come not only for their favourite sandwiches and cakes but also the unique atmosphere of the big tent, with it's special ambiance of burbling banter & chat combined with the smell of summertime afternoon teas and cut grass trapped under the large canvas canopy.

Like other parts of LCK, the famous Tea Tent works well thanks to a small army of wonderful volunteers.

A few dozen ladies gather to prepare for the big & busy afternoon every year, which involves a whole range of logistics and work even before the day itself. The 'Field Marsall' of this small army is Jane Mylchreest with invaluable assistance from Moz Costain.
