Laa Columb Killey
"LAA COLUMB KILLEY" means Saint COLUMBA'S DAY
It was customary that the service in the Church (Arbory Church being dedicated to St. Columba) should be followed by public games and rejoicings.
For nearly 100 years Arbory have held a fair called Laa Columb Killey on the Thursday nearest the anniversary of the date St Columba died.
This year, the festival continues to grow with more attractions, competitions and sports for young and old. You can even win a return boat trip thanks to the Steam Packet.
We're especially pleased that Olympic Snowboarder Zoë Gillings will be opening proceedings
Entry to the festival is a donation (minimum £1) which includes a copy of the programme with entry to the tea tent a further donation (minimum £2.50) for all the tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes you can eat!
